“We were all very impressed by how prepared they were. They dressed the part, had their resumes ready to present, answered our questions very well and even had questions to ask their interviewers at the end. To be honest, most part-time applicants that we see do not accomplish half of that, but your students did. The training that you are giving them is definitely paying dividends.” – Jeff Campbell, City of Lancaster

Professional Skills

Every Flex High student completes a 10-week course to receive five credits of Professional Skills and five credits of Foundations in Computing. We provide relevant training in customer service skills, cover letters writing, resume building, applications and mock interviews as well as helping students explore their interests and career goals. They attend workshops, hear guest speakers from local industries, and participate in work-based learning experiences/field trips and college tours. Then, interested students move onto a specific career pathway through our CTE program where they have the opportunity to learn hands-on skills while earning college credits or industry-recognized certifications. Once through the program, students are able to secure internships, apprenticeships or jobs with the skills acquired from CTE courses.
