2020 – 2021 Parent & Student Guide for Remote Learning

April 21, 2020

Hello Students, Parents and Guardians:

Due to ongoing COVID-19 safety concerns and the need for social distancing, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that all K-12 schools – including FLEX High – will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.

Remote instruction will continue through telephone, our Google platform, emails and text messages for all FLEX High students while our learning centers remain closed and until further notice from the State of Ohio.

Students will be able to continue their studies and progress toward graduation even during this difficult time. As part of the Governor’s order, it is permitted for parents and students to drop-off completed work and pick-up new work. We have designated Monday of each week from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. at our Milo Grogan location, 907 Lexington Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43201 for students and parents to pick-up/drop-off work. Teachers will continue to contact students to ensure they have support and access to resources.

The procedure for pick-up will continue to be as follows:

  1. Pull to the curb in front of the school and call 614.796.3400 or 614.674.4698 with your student’s name. Please stay in your car.
  2. If you are getting a packet, we will be right out. If you are getting a Chromebook, we will need a minute to assign the Chromebook number to your student and make a copy of the rental agreement with this number. This should only take a couple of minutes.
  3. We will deliver the packet or Chromebook to your car.

If you need access to educational materials, or advice about your academic program or other concerns, please call your teacher. For further information or if you need support for food, health services or utilities, please visit our website at flexhighohio.org or our Facebook page.

Please continue to stay safe and observe social distancing guidelines. We certainly miss seeing you all, but we will get through this together.

Sincerely,
Alicia Henry
